Keto Pretzels are made primarily out of keto fathead pizza dough with a little bit of yeast and xanthium gum mixed in.
I thought about this recipe during the week. Since this week is all about cheese, I thought It could be a great idea to take on a pretzel like low carb replacement.
The fresh bread smell that comes from bread is mostly from baked yeast. Yeast is still allowed on a ketogenic diet, so why not add the smell of fresh bread into the pretzel?
They are a little bit strange to roll out. I broke the recipe into 4 different sections, then slowly rolled out the dough into long rolls. This did take some patience, but the taste of these keto pretzels is well worth the wait!
This week is all about cheese!
This week I’ve formulated recipes all around cheese. This means that all the recipes coming out this week will include a few different types of cheeses, but they will be just as delicious!
These recipes are not as simple as the previous 2 weeks (which starred bacon, eggs and chicken), but sometimes it’s nice to prepare a celebratory meal that is great to show off to your friends!
Ketogenic food can be very simple, and for most of the week it should be kept simple to avoid confusion and falling back into old habits. This website has plenty of simple recipes, so if you’re looking for something simple, then have a look around!
Less ingredients = more fun!
Less ingredients means more time of the important things in life. The additional ingredients in this recipe are mostly for decoration, and are not entirely necessary for your ketogenic lifestyle.

Keto Pretzels
Keto Pretzel is made primarily out of keto fathead pizza dough with a little bit of yeast and xanthium gum mixed in.

Ingredients
- 1.5 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Cream Cheese
- ¾ Cups Almond Flour
- 1 tsp Xanthium gum
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Dried Yeast
- 1 Tbsp Warm Water
- 1 Tbsp Butter
Instructions
Mix the cheese together into a microwave safe bowl, and heat on high in 30 second increments until the mixture is melted just enough to be able to bind completely. (this should be about 1.5 mins)
In a small cup, put the warm water and yeast together and let it sit for 3 mins to activate.
Mix the almond flour, egg and xanthium gum together in a bowl. I used an electric mixer for this. Add the yeast and the water and mix together. Add the cheese and kneed the dough together with your hands.
Split into 4 balls, and roll out into long thin rolls. Shape into pretzel round formations and place onto a baking tray. Cover with melted butter and bake in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 mins.

The pretzel recipe says it makes six but you divide the dough into 4 balls and form into pretzels?
